POLICE ALERT!

Door-to-Door Solicitors

There have been reports in the areas surrounding the Village of persons using the guise of door-to-door peddlers to "case" and check out homes to rob.  They are peddling services such as gutter cleaning, tree trimming, roof replacement, etc.

The Village of Marlborough requires every door-to-door solicitor to have a permit and photo ID.

Please check for these required documents if you answer your door to a peddler.  If you find a peddler without these documents, contact the police dispatcher at 314.889.2341, or if you feel threatened at all, call 911.

West Nile Virus and Moquitoes!

Mosquitoes in St. Louis and Jefferson counties have tested positive for West Nile virus. A bird with the virus has already been reported in St. Clair County. There have been no reported human cases of the illness this season in Missouri or Illinois.

The virus causes flu-like symptoms that are typically mild although severe cases can develop. Experts recommend avoiding the outdoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active, wearing insect repellent with DEET and removing all standing water from around the home.

FOR MORE ON MOQUITOES, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE, REDUCING YOUR RISK, AND WEST NILE...SEE THE SECTION UNDER THE "WHAT'S NEW?" TAB.

STREETLIGHTS OUT?

Now that we are outside enjoying the longer summer hours, you may notice more of what is going on in your neighborhood...like streetlights being out!  The Village pays over $1800.00 a month to keep the lights burning for you and your family's safety.

Is your streetlight out?

Refer to the "ISSUES" section on how to report the problem.

WATCH OUT FOR OUR CHILDREN

Please remember with the closing of schools for the summer, children will be playing in yards and in the streets.  SLOW DOWN!  There have been numerous reports of speeding in the residential areas lately.  Police are aware of these complaints and will be enforcing the speed limit laws of the Village.
